One week to go! From Tikal to Macchu Picchu

Well my journey is coming to an end and the 2007 fall latin-south american adventure will be just a story in pictures and this blog. I still sit in Riobamba, having not budged from the hostal i am staying at. I was supposed to catch a train at 6 am to catch some amazing views of the mountain, chimborazo.. however i just didn´t feel like waking up.. I think the trip is finally draining my energy and all I feel like doing is sleeping.. I guess it´s the accumulation ofr more than 4 months of constant changing of the surroundings. I´m having a blast though and i don´t think this travel bug will get out of my system anytime soon. I spent today sleeping in got more than 12 hours of sleep last night. Then i went cruising into town and had a nice lunch at this placed called coffee hollywood. yep that´s right.. there was a place called coffee hollywood down here. As far as the city is concerned, it´s not touristy at all. I´ve only run into a few tourists meandering around otherwise than that this is truely an immersion experience. Riobamba is very laid back and i like the feel of the city. People are too friendly with smiles on their faces. Girls, Guys all meander around the streets having a good town. I like the vibe of this town, hence this is my 2nd day here. For the great deal of the late afternoon, i spent uploading a whole bunch of pictures on my facebook account.. that took some time. I also decided since its my last week, i had to map out what the hell i wanted to accomplish in 7 days. So heres my rough sketch.

Tomm I head to the historic town of Cuenca. Will check out some inca ruins
Sunday head down to the border town of Vilcabamba to catch some amazing scenry and maybe do some moutain biking
Monday I will finally cross into Peru going to the city of Piura. Here i´ll make a pit stop for the night.
Tuesday, I´m off to Trujilllo and Huanchaco to do some boating
Wednesday i´m off to Lima, Peru.
Thursday I´m catching a flight via starperu to cusco to see macchu picchu
Friday will be the Macchu Picchu day.. woo hoo
Saturday is the flight back to Peru where I will chill out for the day before catching my flight back to the US of A later on that night.


We´ll see realistically if i follow this schedule.
