Quito, Ecuador

I parted ways with Misahualli and hopped on a bus to quito. Given the fact I have to be in the US for interviews the first week of december, i figured i should do some backpacking and see at least some of south america. My experience in Misahualli was amazing and I learned a lot from my host family about ecuadorian lifestyle. They were the sweetest couple and very amazing ppl. As far as quito is concerned.. It´s a wonderful city. I´m staying in the old town and it reminds me a lot of london, howver a million times more scenic. Ecuadorian people by the most part are the most hospitable and everyone seems helpful with smiles on their faces. I´m staying at a hostel called the secret garden which is pretty cool. Although loud at night, i´ve met a lot of cool travelers. Well.... the plan for today is to go and see the town. I feel lost without my lonely planet guide book, but maybe it´s not such a bad thing. Eventually i´ll make it to peru and end my fall excursion at Macchu Picchu. I figure that i´ve already payed tribute to the Mayans in Tikal, guatemala... i might as well pay tribute to the Incas. theres a remote possibility that i might scarf up the cash to do the inca trail which everyone i´ve met seems to highly recommend. We´ll see what happens.
