Koh Tao
After recommendation from quite a few people I decided to ditch my plans to go to the infamous Phuket located on the southwestern strip of thailand and instead go to the island of Koh Tao which is a speck in the gulf of thailand. I booked a bus-boat combination through Lomprayah which basically included a 6 hour bus ride followed by a 1.5 hour fast boat ride to Koh Tao. I must say, the journey was pretty comfortable. I even managed to pick up a few secret admirers (the young lady who sold me the ticket) who boldy proclaimed that "because I was cute she HAD to get my email address). Initially this was fine, but then a crowd of young girls gathered around me and I knew from past experiences that this would be a pretty embarrasing moment. Luckily it was time to leave.
I arrived in the island of Koh Tao and oh my god, what a beautiful place. Crystal clear waters, coral reefs a nice resort with a sparkling blue waters. You can only imagine what I decided to do with my free time. And no this didn't include site-seeing. I just lounged by the pool, drank pina coladas and replenished my vitamin D stores. Later that night, I had an awesome salmon steak (and it was fresh too and super yummy) along with a glass of red merlot. A nice way to end a nice day. Today I decided to head out to the center of Koh Tao where all the action lies--Sairee beach. I'm camped out at the Lotus resort and while I cannot complain, it is a bit stuffy and humid in their (no air condition). I also ran into an acquaintence i met in Bangkok. He's french and teaching english in Thailand. He was in Koh toh with his drop dead gorgeous thai girlfriend. So the plan today is just to lounge by the beach a little more. get more sun rays in. Tomorrow I am headed back to Bangkok before I head back to the U S of A on Monday.
